NASA just updated its award-winning, virtual reality “Eyes on the Earth” web feature. Use it to track the planet’s vital signs (collected by NASA’s satellites) in real-time —from carbon dioxide levels to average sea level variation. The screenshot shown at top represents the most recent gravity field map.
Check out the image of the day while you’re at it. I had barely opened the browser window when a prompt screen happily whisked me through virtual outer space to see the bright red lava flow of a volcano currently erupting in North Africa.
Get it as an app, too, if you wish.
